Off to Seville!

A few weeks ago I stopped by the doctor because I had been chronically exhausted for about two months at that point (think 9 hours of sleep at night and still having trouble to keep my eyes open during the day), and it turned out I had acquired infectious mononucleosis — that’s an unnecessarily difficult English word for klierkoorts in Dutch. Luckily the infection had left my body already, but the doctor strongly suggested that, next to taking extra vitamins and iron supplements, I’d take a lot of rest and if possible, a week off.

So when I came home, I googled “warm city Europe” and almost immediately booked a little getaway to Seville! My mom is joining me to this apparently very beautiful Spanish city, and we’re super curious if you have any tips for us! We’re leaving today and will be staying for 4 days so there’s plenty of time to explore the best musea, shops, bars and secret hidden gardens.

Let us know if you have any travel suggestions on Seville!

  • The slow pace

Hi Polienne! I’m so sorry to hear that you have been ill, but on the bright side, you can travel because the doctor ordered it! 😉 Seville is one of my favourite cities, perfect to eat good food, walk a lot and get lost in its tiny streets and relax. We have plenty of posts about Seville in our blog because my wife comes from Seville. I’m sorry if this sounds like auto promotion… but, well, we do have plenty of posts about thsi beautiful city! Feel free to check them out if you want! And have a great time in Seville!
    xx,

Hi! I really like your blog and I am so glad you´re visiting my city! Although I dont live there now, I think Sevilla is the most beautiful city ever (obviusly, I am not being objective cause I´ve passed there my entire life). If you want some tips, I trully recomend you to have some tapas in Plaza de la Gavidia; wether you want to dance all night or just feel like having a relaxing cup of wine near the river La Alameda de Hércules its your place. For a coffee, the gourmet experience terrace at Plaza del Duque would be perfect: enjoy the views!! The principalship of La Universidad de Sevilla its placed in a wonderful building which used to be a Cigarretes factory, do you know Carmen, the opera work? Its inspired by their workers.I do envy you, cause I am working in a different city but I would love to be in Seville 🙁 I´m sure you´re going to love it, if any question ask me please 😉 Have a good time and post I lot of photos! I am looking forward to seeing them at instagram <3

    • Thank you for your lovely tips! I had a GREAT time in Sevilla, and I must say that it is one of the most beautiful and relaxing cities that I have ever visited 🙂 Seems lovely to live there! Our apartment was close to La Alameda de Hércules so we spent a lot of time trying out the bars around that square. Thanks again for the tips!
