He was a sk8er boi, she said see you later boy… The number one lyric us nineties children all know by heart as soon as we hear the first notes of that famous guitar riff! Sk8er Boi was probably one of my fave songs ever in my teens (aaaafter Complicated, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Green Day and I Miss You by Blink 182) and YUP I still listen to it from time to time. As in: weekly. Sometimes. Although I never managed to stand up on a riding skateboard, I totally idolized Avril Lavigne with her oversized trousers, striped tie, stack of spiked bracelets and skate caps. They say that every trend comes back in fashion, so why not go for an updated Avril chic? I pulled out my Essentiel cap and wore my breezy trousers by HUSH, but obviously should have picked a pair of worn out Converses to complete the look. Nevertheless, I’m so happy that it’s finally warm enough to wear these beauties by Steve Madden! So damn chic!
These photos were taken during the long weekend, when Lisa and I escaped from our thesis writing by having a long lunch break in the sun. We accidentally bumped into this food market featuring several local products from countries like France, Italy, Thailand, Mexico and more. After a long deliberation we figured that a huge bowl of fresh Thai noodles, chicken and veggies was quite the bargain for only €5, and it turned out the perfect lunch! We finished with a stroll through the jewelry department and had a huge apple/carrot/celery smoothie for dessert. I included some photos of the international food market, since it’s still open today! Located on the Gedempte Zuiderdokken in Antwerp, Fiesta Europa is the perfect spot to start a day of vintage shopping at Kloosterstraat nearby. Just a little tip!
