Kelly from Belgian online shop Mr + Mrs Tweed sent me these adorable fringed shoes with a little challenge. She told me her costumers are quite hesitant on buying them, although they absolutely love them. Apparently they are difficult to style. Well.... challenge accepted!

Of course I could have worn them with cut-off denim shorts and a crochet tank-top (combination 1) or with a flowery maxi dress and a scarf tied up in my hair (combination 2) but the fact that these outfits popped in my head at the very first second I saw the shoes, means that they are too obvious. Of course you associate fringes and tassels with festivals (Coachella in particular), hot sunny weather and boho-outfits! The trick is knowing how to wear your hippie-items in real life, as we don't have California weather all year round. That's why I chose to wear them in a tomboy-style look. Cropped pants, masculine blazer and even a cute vintage briefcase, which used to be my mum's. The one thing I just couldn't resist was adding a subtle aztec print... Fringes ARE boho after all, right?

PS: I'm sorry for my forced smiles, I'm having a huge cold and my head feels totally stuffed.
